December Islamorada Shark Fishing

Islamorada is known as the ‘sportfishing capital of the world’ for good reason – we catch lots of world class gamefish here!  But one often overlooked species that we catch a whole lot of is sharks!  Shark fishing in islamorada can be done in the backcountry waters, gulf of mexico, or out in the atlantic ocean for the big monsters.  December florida keys shark fishing is a good bet for action!  In the backcountry, big bull sharks often swarm in the creeks and mouths wherever there is warm water run off.  In the gulf, look for large spinner/black tip sharks swarming with the schools of spanish mackerel!  These bad boys can pull some drag and will jump, spin, and try anything to get off the hook!  Islamorada shark fishing can slow down in the shallows in the winter time if the water is cold, but otherwise it is not to be overlooked!  If your interested in an islamorada shark fishing charter, feel free to contact me.  I can hook you up with either fishing in the backcountry shallows, or going offshore for the ‘big boys’ – makos, tigers, hammerheads!  Here’s some pictures of a couple big sharks caught offshore this december shark fishing.
