7/21/13 Shark fishing islamorada in july

The backcountry waters can hold plenty of sharks in the summer time through July.  Getting out early to catch bait is important.  I’ve been fishing mullet a lot lately which you have to catch.  Sharks love them as do tarpon so you have a shot at both, many areas we fish can hold sharks, tarpon, and even other large predators.  You can also catch things such as ladyfish, jacks, or other small fish for bait.  We’ve been catching lots of blacktips in the channels.  We got plenty today along with this hammerhead and some tarpon too.  Lemon sharks are in good numbers on the flats, and bulls can be found all around the everglades.
